Advent Devotional - Day 15

DECEMBER 15 – Luke 2: 13-14
By: Carolyn Champagne

Can’t you just picture this scene? Beautiful angels are celebrating the birth of the Christ child. Picture yourself back in those days, outside, staring up at the sky and watching angels singing and rejoicing to the Lord for the marvelous thing he has done. I wish I could have been there. This reminds me of graduation day. Whether it be high school or college, you are all dressed up and excited about what you have accomplished. When everyone walked across the stage I recall that feeling of true excitement and a need to celebrate, shout and cheer. Everyone then throws their hats in the air. It is this kind of excitement that the angels felt way back, 2000 years ago. They had a reason to celebrate. They knew before we did what this birth would mean to the world. So as we journey through this Advent season, let’s rejoice and celebrate with the angels, let our voices be heard by all.

Lord and Savior, bless us all with a feeling of joy and excitement at the promise of the birth of the Christ Child. Amen.
